A book of shore excursion options is included with documents well in advance of the sailing, to familiarize yourself with the available tours. You can pre-register for excursions prior to sailing, or book tours through the ship's Shore Excursions Desk. The Shore Excursions staff also offers informational talks on each port of call, providing tips on things to look forward to while ashore.

Wheelchair Access and Facilities for the Physically Challenged

Our ships were designed to be accessible for the physically challenged, with ramp access to most decks and public areas. Ships' elevators can accommodate standard-size wheelchairs (22.5" wide) allowing access to all public decks.

Certain staterooms offer extra-wide doors, fully wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and "wheel-in closets" with low-fitted hanging rods. Some suites offer limited wheelchair access to personal facilities. Please note that these staterooms and suites are subject to availability and must be requested at the time of booking.

Wheelchair-bound guests must bring their own junior/adult standard-size wheelchair (22.5" wide) and be accompanied by a traveling companion for access to all areas of the ships.

Some ports of call are anchorage ports and physical conditions may preclude our guests in wheelchairs from going ashore. This decision is made by the ship's Captain or doctor, and is binding. The Crystal Adventures Shore Excursions staff may assist with recommendations on which tours, if any, are best suited for physically challenged guests; wheelchair-accessible excursions are also indicated in your Crystal Adventures book. Personal assistants may be available to provide wheelchair or other individual services to guests participating in shore excursions; this assistance may be requested at the Concierge Desk for an additional fee.

For the hearing-impaired, the Hollywood Theatre and Galaxy Lounge are equipped with an Infrared Hearing System. Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity also offer closed-captioned programming on selected television programs. Guests can contact the Reception Desk to activate this feature.

Crystal Cruises exclusively features Caesars Palace at Sea casino, run by the world-famous Las Vegas gaming operation. Each spacious facility houses blackjack tables, as well as mini-baccarat, craps, roulette, and more than 85 slot machines. The expert casino staff is employed by Caesars Palace.

Music & Dancing
Before and after dinner hours, musical entertainment and dancing are offered in a number of venues around the ship. Each lounge features a diverse array of performances from classical artists to ballroom dance bands. Our musical trio serenades you with classical melodies during Afternoon Tea and plays requests as they stroll through the Crystal Dining Room each evening.

Piano Bars
Soft piano melodies fill the Crystal Cove in the afternoons and each evening at cocktail hour. The popular Avenue Saloon features a pianist performing jazz and favorite tunes.

For Specific Cruise Programming
To access specific information about the entertainers and lecturers on a particular cruise, please go back to our home page and click on a desired cruise itinerary from your search results. The tab marked Entertainment & Programs will reveal a complete list of that sailing's theme (if applicable), celebrities, entertainers, production shows, lecturers, instructors and other enrichment personnel.

Celebrity Entertainers and Speakers

The stars shine brightest at sea. Crystal Cruises is proud to feature exciting celebrity entertainers on board such as Joel Grey, Maureen McGovern, Lorna Luft and John Davidson -all part of the diverse spectrum of entertainment options available to our guests. We also offer a galaxy of celebrity speakers to further enrich many sailings.

In the Bars and Lounges
One stroll about the public areas on any Crystal cruise and you will discover entertainment at practically every turn. There's a headline show every evening in the Galaxy Lounge. There is frequently music in the Crystal Cove and a pianist performs nightly in the Avenue Saloon. A string ensemble entertains in the Palm Court during Afternoon Tea. Entertainment may also be found at various times in other venues including the Crystal Dining Room, the Starlite Club, the Stardust Club, the Club 2100, on the Lido Deck, and more.

Health and Fitness
Cruising is all about lifestyle: fine wining and dining, visiting exotic destinations and enjoying extravagant production shows. But today's guest is also interested in balancing the rich life of a cruise with health and fitness. If that sounds like you, then Crystal Cruises is your perfect vacation. From the wrap-around, all-outdoor teak Promenade Deck -one of the most popular features on all our ships, and one you won't find on many other large cruise ships -to a Spa with one of the world's best views, every Crystal cruise offers a variety of options for keeping fit and well.

Our Feng Shui-inspired Crystal Spa offers a wide range of treatments and Swedish massage, as well as aerobics, stretching and other exercise classes, an extensive line of professional exercise/workout equipment and a professional personal trainer. Sauna and steam rooms are located in the Spa, as are the massage therapy rooms.

On most cruises, a qualified PGA golf pro is on board to offer classes and clinics. There are driving range nets and a putting green, with a supply of practice clubs and balls. Crystal is pleased to offer Callaway golf clubs on board; complete sets of Callaway clubs are also available for rental to use in ports where you may wish to play.

If golf isn't your game, how about paddle tennis or shuffleboard? You'll enjoy a full-size, enclosed paddle tennis court on the ship-top Sun Deck. For jogging, walking, stretching and fresh air, there's the Promenade Deck, nearly a quarter-mile around for walking or jogging. Our two pools, the indoor/outdoor Neptune Pool and the full-length Seahorse Pool and adjoining Jacuzzi, are located on the Lido Deck. Sunbathe, snooze and read while enjoying a refreshing drink poolside in the afternoon.

Build Your Sea Legs with "Walk-On-Water"
Debbie Rocker's weighted vests have become one of the world's most popular exercise accessories. And now, Ms. Rocker brings these vests on board with an exciting new program developed exclusively for Crystal Cruises: "Walk-On-Water" (WOW).

Designed to maximize the health benefits of walking, the innovative program, featuring Ms. Rocker's revolutionary weighted WALKVEST by Debbie Rocker, allows guests to expand their fitness regimen in idyllic settings around the world. Tailor-made for Crystal and taking advantage of our renowned wraparound Promenade Deck, Ms. Rocker's WOW regimen was introduced on Crystal Harmony's holiday cruise and is now available fleetwide.

The main feature of the Walk-On-Water program is Ms. Rocker's exclusive WALKVEST, a lightweight cotton vest with weight pockets strategically located around the mid-section. In contrast to exercising with hand-held or ankle weights, which may alter the natural stride and can wrench the spine, WALKVEST places weights around the waistline, providing better support and equilibrium control. More than a dozen specially designed weight pockets hold one or more weights in half-pound increments, allowing for a gradual increase from two to sixteen pounds. The WOW program adds customized motivational music-driven audiotapes, a day-by-day guided walking program, and educational instructions on how to walk safely and effectively.
Each ship features at least 50 WALKVESTs, customized with the Crystal logo, and Ms. Rocker personally trained our sports directors on teaching the WOW-WALKVEST walking program.

Onboard Etiquette

Clothing Suggestions
Throughout the day, our guests wear a casual mix of active resort wear. Crystal Dining Room attire is casual during the day; however, swimsuits are not appropriate. If you do not wish to change for a meal in the afternoon, alfresco dining on deck is available. For days in port, be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes. Each evening on a Crystal cruise has a specific dress code, which applies to all public areas of the ship after 6:00 pm. Guests find that the occasional formal evenings create a special atmosphere in contrast to the other more informal evenings on board. The three codes of attire are: casual, informal and formal. Typically, 10- to 14-day cruises have three formal nights. The number of informal nights is usually based on the number of days at sea, and casual nights are based on days in port.
Formal Evening Attire -We recommend evening dresses and gowns of fashionable length for ladies, and a tuxedo, dinner jacket or dark suit and tie for gentlemen.

Informal Evening Attire -For ladies, evening dresses, cocktail dresses or pantsuits are suitable. For gentlemen, we suggest a sport coat and slacks; ties are optional.

Casual Evening Attire -On casual evenings, a more relaxed attire is accepted such as casual dresses and pantsuits for ladies, and sport shirt and slacks for gentlemen. Ties and jackets are not required.

Themed evenings are often offered; the cruise ticket lists the special evenings on each cruise. Guests may wish to bring special attire or costumes for our Rock Around the Clock/Sock Hop '50s Night, and our Medieval extravaganza Excalibur! An Evening in Camelot.

Smoking Policy
We recognize that some of our guests smoke and others do not. Therefore, the living environment on our ships is designed to satisfy everyone. Most areas of the ship are non-smoking. There are designated smoking areas in most of our bars and lounges (excluding restaurants and the Galaxy Lounge, which are entirely non-smoking). Pipes and cigars are permitted only in the Connoisseur Club. Pipes and cigars may not be smoked in guest penthouses, staterooms, on verandahs or in corridors. Please observe these rules which have been designed for the comfort and enjoyment of all on board.

Gratuities
Because tipping is a personal matter, Crystal Cruises does not include gratuities in cruise fares. Suggested guidelines are as follows: stewardess, $4.00 per guest per day (single travelers $5.00 per day); waiter, $4.00 per guest per day; assistant waiter, $2.50 per guest, per day; butler (Penthouse Decks), $4.00 per guest per day. Tips for the maitre d', headwaiter, assistant stewardess, deck stewards and so on are at guest's discretion. For specialty restaurants, we suggest $6.00 per guest, per dinner. A 15% gratuity is added to all bar drinks and wine. A 15% gratuity is suggested for Crystal Spa & Salon services. Gratuities may be prepaid and charged to your shipboard account.

Junior Activities Program

For Our Young Cruisers
Crystal Cruises' commitment to excellence and quality of experience does not end with our grown-up cruisers. Kids have a variety of great activities to choose from on every Crystal cruise! We offer a children's playroom and babysitting services on all cruises. During holiday cruises and selected sailings, additional children's activities are offered under the supervision of experienced Junior Activities Directors.

Our Junior Activities Program is Three-Tiered
3-7 year olds
8-12 year olds
13-17 year olds

Children under six months are not permitted on board without a signed waiver by parent(s).

Hours of Operation
Hours of operation vary depending on the itinerary and number of children on board.

Activities
Activities are determined by age and the number of children on board. On those sailings with Junior Activities Directors, a detailed schedule of events is created at the beginning of each cruise. Once on board, you'll receive Surf Runner, or Teen Scene, the teenagers guide to special activities, our daily newsletter for kids with details for the following day's schedule and other pertinent information.

Facilities
Fantasia, our children's playroom, offers tables and chairs for arts and crafts, popular Sony PlayStation game titles, a large screen television set and board games. Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity also feature a teenager's video arcade, Waves. The Library offers children's books and children's videos or DVDs for enjoyment in staterooms.

Dining
Kids may choose from a special Junior Cruiser's menu, and Crystal's executive chefs and other culinary staff can prepare custom dishes. The Trident Grill serves complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and more. Baby food, high chairs and booster seats are available.

Additional Services
For a small fee, all vessels offer in-stateroom baby-sitting. Guests should contact the concierge on board for this service at least 24 hours in advance.
Cruises with the JA designation offer complete junior activities programs under the supervision of experienced Junior Activities Directors.
